xxxxxxxxxx, xxxxxxxxxxx reg., Ukraine.Population: about 10 thousands people Today is Saturday and I'm taking by byke to make it faster getting pictures for you. Please, don't mention my name if you want to publish these pictures where they can be found by somebody who is responsible in my town for things that are really in BAD STATE. I (or my family) might have problems in this case... :-) This is the main square of our town.Looks pretty nice. Once here had been a small park, but our government decided that it would be best to remove it. What is intersting is that public presentation of this square was concieved to be on 600 anniversary of xxxxxxxxxx. However, there was no money to do this up to the last few days. People had to work days and nights to make the presentation possible. They were forced in some way. Soviet Union sometimes is still alive here.... Notice that orange stipes on trees by the car, that's what has left of Orange revolution :) On the right is the government building. It is Saturday morning now and nobody's working today here. This is what happens after all elections.Parliament election has left its footprint on our town too. Nobody cares to remove all this crap from buildings, shops, bus stops, fences etc. This is our park. You can see some benches here, mud and a lot of garbage. Sorry, the picture is not really sharp, but believe if I'd take a closer picture you'd see a lot of shattered class, ice cream envelops and other things. Why? Because almost every day people come here to drink beer or something even much stronger. As you can't see any trash contaners here, all what's left is thrown straight on the ground. Please note that there's no any bottles found. It's because they are collected by very poor people who can sell them to stay alive. There's not many such people here, but they can be found lurking here at night, when nobody see them and when bottles are thrown away most often. This is the cinema I've told you about. It's name is translated into English as "Satellite". As you can see it is completely ruined. You can't see on the picture but on the right side of this cinema it our park I've told you about.
... the same cinema. Side view. Nicely sealed windows :-)))) If could take a look into that broken window you'd see a lot of water inside. Actually its a lot of water now everywhere. It is spring... This is the cinema I've told you about.
The building with "M" is a public toilet. I didn't come inside because I'm afraid you may get very disappointed seeing what is inside. Right before the toiled is a big heap of trash. It's interesting enough that a bit further, in background, is the same local government administration (see the first picture). Clear enough that it is one of the places the garbage comes from... This place is much nicer. That's where small kids spend their time while their parents are at work. Looks very neat, I like it.
just one more shot... This is the school where I studied.
It was built about 25 years ago. The blue door is the entrance into a workshop where pupils can learn how to do something with their hands. For example, we studied how to create a chair... It is still can be found somewhere at my home :-) [...] Nice memories :--))))) Another school building.
Here we had a lot of old computers, where I studied programming. The reality was that I knew more than my teachers :) I was one of the rare pupils who had computer at home when almost nobody knew what it is. This is the main entrance of the school."Welcome" is what written above the door. The glass has a big crack. Perhaps somebody didn't hold the door. That's how the inscription "please, hold the door" appeared. Sorry, the inscription can't be distinguished on the white label. Usually pupils don't study on Saturday. But obviously some courses are conducted however. When this girl has noticed me on my bike with digital camera in hands, about four faces appeared in this window (mostly girls). However when I explained with justures if she don't mind if a take a picture the rest of them dissapeared. When I started to ride away, she started to wave me, apparently inviting inside to meet her. I didn't like the idea though. Some pupils study here..Looks like a building church...
Not bad as for our small town. This is our hospital.Ambulance is standing by... This is the place...
... where the most rich people of our town build their houses and live. Often you can see here houses with two, three or even more floors. This place has an unofficial name that is translated into English as "Tsar's village". Who lives here? Just few examples: our local government administration's head, local police head, tax collection office's head etc. In short, big people... Who know where they can get money to build such houses, while ... ...a lot more people in xxxxxxxxxx have houses like this:These are living blocks.Geese feel themself comfortable :-)))) Actually almost every family keep these birds home. They breed them to eat in winter. It's mauch cheaper then buying them... These are garages. People who live in those blocks keep their cars here. Notice that building in background. That's where soldiers lived once. Some years ago we had a military dislocation here. Actually most of these blocks were built for officers and their families. In fact there are still many military machines there: tanks, cannons and so on. Once I'd been there and saw all of them. Hundreds... We have a railroad and station.
Somebody's making good money trading wood here ;-) A small bus station.Broken glass and empty glasses on the floor. Beer is popular here.. Trash heap by the road.
Be ready to see a lot of garbage in our places. Our landscapes...That's what our roads look like.
The shop seems to be closed forever.
Looks like a jail. :-) The flowers hanging by the road that somebody has been killed here in car wreck. It was my classmate in this very case... Panorama
On the left side of this panorama you can see a cementary. On the right side, strange enough, is the biggest garbage pit. That's it for now... |
